Group visits at Hidcote

Situated in the beautiful Cotswold countryside, Hidcote is one of England’s most inspiring gardens and is a great place for a group visit at any time of year. To help you plan a very enjoyable day out with us read on.

All You Need To Know

Hidcote is a popular destination so it’s essential that groups book with us in advance to avoid any disappointment and to secure their visit. There are a number of benefits if you visit as a group.

  • Complimentary admission for a group leader for a familiarisation visit
  • Complimentary admission for one group leader on day of visit
  • Discounted admission for groups with 15 or more people
  • Allocated arrival time
  • Free coach parking
  • Refreshment voucher for your coach driver
  • Introductory talks available on request
  • Pre-order lunch picnics or afternoon teas

To explore all of the garden you should plan to be with us for at least 2 hours but you will need to stay longer if you also wish to spend time in our shop, plant centre or cafes.

Admission Prices

If there are more than 15 people in your party (including National Trust members but excluding the tour leader and coach driver) there is a reduced admission charge.

Normal admission charges apply to groups consisting of 14 people or fewer or when group members pay individually.

Groups arriving separately by car need to meet up at our visitor reception area to be welcomed as a group.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any organised group without a booking. Those groups of 15 or more people who may be admitted at our discretion, will not be entitled to the group rate.

Allocated Timed Arrivals

To help us ensure your groups gets the most from their visit, and that our car park has space for your vehicle, we offer timed daily arrival options for you to choose from. Please be aware that we do not accept any groups on Fridays or Bank Holiday weekends (Friday to Monday inclusive).

Introductory Talks

Lasting about 20 minutes, our introductory talks given by one of our volunteer garden guides, provide excellent background information on the history of the garden, the planting style and past and present restoration projects.
Talks can be requested for a fee of £50 (non-refundable) when you make the booking for your group.

Picnics and Afternoon Teas

Because of the high volume of visitors to Hidcote on our busier days, we offer groups the opportunity to pre-order picnics and afternoon teas.  We have a dedicated picnic area in a tree lined avenue adjacent to the carpark.

Making The Most of Your Day

You are welcome to stay at Hidcote as long as you wish but if you would like to visit another nearby attraction there is a lot to choose from.  Many of our visitors combine a visit with a trip to Kiftsgate Court Garden which is a few hundred yards away.
There are other National Trust properties to choose from as well including Charlecote Park, Chastleton House, Coughton Court, Snowshill Manor, and Upton House.
Alternatively we are about six miles from the historic town of Chipping Campden, while a thirty minute drive would get you to Batsford Arboretum, the art gallery at Compton Verney or Stratford upon Avon.

If you’re interested in visiting us as a group or need any more information, please drop us an email or call us on 01386 438333.  We look forward to hearing from you.
