Attingham West Lodge, commissioned by Richard, 5th Lord Berwick and built by 1862, is now a comfortable holiday cottage with Georgian style to link with Attingham’s history. The lodge is a Grade II listed building with river views from the master bedroom, walks from the doorstep and after-hours access to the estate.

On the ground floor you’ll find the sitting room with a woodburning stove, the dining room, the kitchen and the bathroom with an over-bath shower. Up the steep staircase, there’s one king-size bedroom and one single bedroom. The lodge has a small, enclosed garden with a lawn, a patio and seating.

There are many walks on the estate, through woods, parkland and along the river, and the national cycle route is close by. You’ll have free entry to Attingham Park’s Regency Mansion, Walled Garden, Deer Park and Field of Play, as well as other National Trust properties in the area including Sunnycroft, Benthall and Dudmaston. Attingham’s Carriage House Café, Stables Shop and second-hand bookshop are open every day.

The lodge is at the main entrance to Attingham Park in the village of Atcham. The vibrant town of Shrewsbury is a 10-minute drive. Close by, there are canals, the river Severn and Tern, great Shropshire walks, and attractions including Wroxeter Roman City and World Heritage Site Ironbridge Gorge.
