Boar Mill Cottage has it all: comfort, history, intrigue and a story to tell. As a former bakery, the three-bedroom stone cottage is teeming with quirky original features from the old bread oven in the dining room to remnants of the bakers’ implements still in the cottage. It sits in the shadows of the towering Corfe Castle in its eponymous village, with quaint shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Climb to the top of the thousand-year-old Corfe Castle and take in the views across Purbeck. There are lots of events that take place here throughout the year, to help you delve into the castle’s fascinating history. You could join a guided walking tour, try your hand at archery or get involved with history re-enactment days.

There are many walking trails that start at the castle too. Take the 10-mile ‘Purbeck Ridgeway’ trail, which will lead you out to the Dorset coastline. Studland Bay and its sandy beach are just a 10-minute drive from the cottage.

Ground floor layout

Dining room, kitchen with utility room, shower room and sitting room.

First floor layout

Three bedrooms (two double and one twin bedroom).

Stairs:  This cottage has steep and narrow stairs.

Heating: Gas central heating included. The fire will be laid for you on arrival with enough fuel to get you started. Additional logs can be purchased in advance through the contact centre. Logs are available at £9 per bag and this includes kindling.

Parking: There is space for two cars near the cottage.

*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.

The WiFi signal is restricted to the kitchen, dining room and bedrooms 2 and 3.

Garden: There is a medium-sized grassed garden to the rear of the property. There is also a small yard at the front of the property.

Please note: There is a stream surrounding the cottage and an unfenced water course along the track leading to the property. Children should be supervised at all times in the garden and surrounding the property.
