Eighteenth-century hop kilns are part of the fabric of this unusual apartment for two.
Hop Kiln Mews is a first-floor apartment above an old apple press, in a cluster of red-brick farm buildings and hop kilns on the Brockhampton estate. External stairs lead up to the front door and into the airy bedroom which leads into the rest of the apartment. It's full of original features and natural light. The shower room looks up into the tall, conical roof of the kiln, and an internal window gives you a glimpse inside the historical building’s structure.
There are miles of footpaths to explore on the estate, and you’ll have free entry here, as well as at all other National Trust places, during your stay. Brockhampton has a moated manor house portraying life through the eras, over 65 acres of orchards and expansive woodland, parkland and farmland across 1,700 acres.
Bromyard, a market town with a high street full of independent cafes, shops and pubs, is a couple of miles away. Further afield, explore the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Stourport-on-Sevenm a pretty, Georgian canal town.
Hop Kiln Mews, Hop Kiln Farmhouse (sleeps 10), Kiln Barn (sleeps 2) and Hop Kiln Cart Barn (sleeps 4) can be booked together.
