About Kingfisher View

This cosy riverside apartment, Kingfisher View, will give you a chance to disconnect from the world and unwind. It’s a stone’s throw away from a scenic bridge and ford, not too far from local shops and is surrounded by rolling Devon hills. It’s the perfect location for walkers and countryside explorers – a great place to have a peaceful night’s sleep after an active day of rambling.

With three bedrooms, there’s enough space for everyone to relax, whether you’re on a family staycation exploring the beautiful rolling hills, or on a walking holiday with friends to challenge yourselves. It’s a rustic, cosy bolthole tucked away in a pretty village in Exmoor, with plenty of countryside to explore.

Just over two miles away is your nearest shingle beach at Lynmouth. Four-legged friends will love to run and play in the varied landscape surrounding you. There are lots of peaceful walks nearby to choose from perfect for dreamy summer days, like the one along the river to Cloud Farm around two miles from Kingfisher View, or the historic loop around the valley to indulge in some leafy green sights – which is great if you want a challenge as it’s eight miles total to traverse.

And when your stomach begins to rumble, there’s a popular tearoom next door to the apartment (open in summer only) to indulge in some cream tea before you settle down for the night in your cosy bed. Or if you’d like to travel a little further afield, you’ll be around seven miles from both Lynton and Porlock. The village of Porlock has three pubs, two grocery shops, lots of amenities and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms. Lynton is a small town in the opposite direction and boasts similar amenities, both well worth a visit.

Fans of R. D. Blackmore will be interested to know that the nearby Doone Valley inspired him for his well-known novel, Lorna Doone. Take a self-led tour of the novel and journey through places such as the medieval village at Hoccombe Combe and the water slide at Lank Combe. You’ve got rolling hills and open spaces on your doorstep if you choose to stay at Kingfisher View.
