About Swallow

Swallow Cottage has been converted from an 18th-century farm building and was originally used as a cow shed to house a dairy herd. The cottage has been restored using traditional materials and retains its original character. Exposed beams, a brickwork fireplace and a wood-burner add to its charm.

Take advantage of the cottage's location and explore Fountains Abbey, a 12th-century Cistercian abbey and World Heritage site. As a guest, you are invited to enjoy this attraction for free.

Take a trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Wander along undulating hills and valleys before stopping for lunch in one of the many traditional pubs scattered throughout the National Park. Or head 30 miles to York, with its wealth of heritage, cobbled streets and the mighty York Minster.
