About SwallowA former farm building now converted to a characterful holiday let with exposed beams.
Swallow Cottage has been converted from an 18th-century farm building and was originally used as a cow shed to house a dairy herd. The cottage has been restored using traditional materials and retains its original character. Exposed beams, a brickwork fireplace and a wood-burner add to its charm.
Take advantage of the cottages amazing location and explore Fountains Abbey, a 12th-century Cistercian abbey and World Heritage site. As a guest, you are invited to enjoy this stunning attraction for free.
Take a trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Wander along undulating hills and valleys before stopping for lunch in one of the many traditional pubs scattered throughout the National Park. Or head 30 miles to York, with its wealth of heritage, cobbled streets and the mighty York Minster.

Entrance lobby, open-plan kitchen/sitting/dining room with wood-burning stove, three bedrooms (1 double with 5' bed and en-suite shower room, 1 twin which can also be a double on request and a further twin), bathroom with shower over bath.
Notes for guests

Heating: Central heating included.
Logs: The fire will be laid for you on arrival. Additional logs may be purchased upon booking or prior to arrival for £5 per bag.
Garden: Shared courtyard to the front of the cottage.
Parking: Designated parking for two cars adjacent to the cottage entrance.
Utilities: Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer shared with Wren and Lark cottages.
Children: There is a small pond in the field approximately 200 yards down the hill and we advise that young children should be supervised.
*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.
Telephone: There is a payphone located on the wall of the laundry room in the courtyard at How Hill. This is for use by guests of Swallow, Curlew, Lapwing, Lark and Wren.
Please note: The water supply in this cottage comes from our borehole.
Offers: Acces is available to the estate at all hours, even when closed to public, Except Fridays in November December and January in car park next to the main entrance, approximately 25 metres from the cottage.
