Discover the spectacular ruins of Fountains Abbey from this large cottage with a farmhouse air.
Stay in this relaxed cottage with the feel of a farmhouse in the heart of Yorkshire. With enough room for six people, it’s ideal for special get-togethers. It can also be booked with adjoining The Boot Room, which sleeps a further two people. The dining table is perfect for big celebratory meals, and afterwards you’ll love to sink into the comfy leather sofas around a roaring log burner. You’ll have an enclosed lawn garden with picnic benches and plenty of space for dogs to run around.
Guests can enjoy free access to wander across the 700 acres of the busy Studley Royal deer park from the doorstep. Staying here really gives you the opportunity to experience life in a working deer park. You’ll also have the privilege of your own key to experience the atmospheric ruins of Fountains Abbey and the beautiful Georgian water gardens once the day visitors have left. The cottage is just a 10 minute drive from Ripon town centre, where you’ll find plenty of cosy restaurants and pubs to enjoy.
You’ll be 20 minutes from the dramatic moorland rock formations of Brimham Rocks and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Or if you want to go further afield, it’s about an hour's drive into the windswept wilds of the Yorkshire Dales, where there are lots of walking routes. Other places to visit include the York Treasurer’s House, Nunnington Hall and Beningbrough Hall and Gardens.

Heating: Gas central heating throughout.
Logs: This cottage has a woodburner in the sitting room. We’ll lay the first fire for you and supply a few extra logs. More logs are available to purchase when making a booking. The current price will be shown on the payment page.
Parking: There is ample parking space for 4-6 vehicles in an area just below the garden, approximately 150m away from the cottage.
Offers: Holiday cottage guests have free access to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Estate during opening hours and after hours until dusk once the public have gone home. This is with the exception of Fridays in November, December and January when the estate is closed on Fridays.
Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout at 4pm.
Please note: The cottage backs onto the B6265 main road, there may be passing traffic.
