So whether you're looking for a self-guided visit, or hands-on workshop; a history based study or countryside focus, Ightham Mote is a special place to learn.
Come to Ightham Mote for a day of exciting discoveries and stimulating learning experiences. From Literacy and Numeracy to History, Art, Science and DT, this amazing house, garden and estate will bring your teaching to life.
- Be creative with literacy and numeracy by encouraging pupils to write their own stories or look for patterns and shapes, taking measurements and generating estimations.
- Inspire your pupils to become art detectives and explore their own responses to this beautiful estate.
- Take the classroom to the great outdoors for inspiring geography and science lessons.
- During 2017, there's the unique opportunity to see two of renowned artist John Singer Sargent's paintings on display. His portrait 'Elsie Palmer: A young lady in white' and landscape 'A game of bowls' were both painted here during the 19th century.

All school visits need to be booked in advance. To book your learning day, please contact our learning team on 01732 810378 ext.103 or email Emily to discuss your requirements. Once you've booked your trip, we'll provide you with a hazard identification document to help you write your risk assessment.
Admission is free to Education Group Members, otherwise standard admission prices apply. There is an additional charge for all guided sessions.
Our workshop sessions run from March to October, term time only. Depending on the workshop required, we can cater for up to 60 pupils. Please note: we work to Kent school term times.
