Wanted - volunteers with spades and boots for weeding extravaganza

Volunteers doing a spot of weeding in the garden

Garden conservation volunteer day - Weds 11 May 2016.

Enjoy a practical day helping out in the garden at Ightham Mote. Good weather guaranteed... OK, as we're in England the bit about the weather may be hopeful, but it'll be a fun and productive day.

What will we be doing?

We’re gradually restoring the Pleasure Grounds to their former glory, but we need your help. We’ve already been tackling plants such as Japanese Knotweed, but now it is the turn of the invasive Pendulous Sedge. We need to remove this thug from the margins of the North Lake, so we can plant a variety of native marginal plants to provide better colour and wildlife habitat.

When is it?

Weds 11 May 2016. Work begins at 9am, and continues throughout the day, but you are welcome to come along for however long you can spare.

How do I join in?

We need to know numbers, so booking is essential. Please contact Iain Sanders for further details and an application form.
