Worldwide Spin in Public Day
Make a weekend of Worldwide Spin in Public Day with us at the Guildhall this September.
We're celebrating Worldwide Spin in Public Day with a weekend of events.
On Saturday, we'll be amongst places around the world marking the occasion whilst on Sunday there will be some exclusive demonstrations taking place in the Guildhall.
The Lavenham Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will be demonstrating their spinning skills throughout the village and in the Guildhall itself.
Join us for both days, and you'll see the transformation of fibres becoming the famous blue Lavenham blue cloth.
Saturday will be a big event for the whole of Lavenham, and as well as inside the Guildhall, spinning will be taking place outside in the Market Square, inside the Angel Gallery, Elizabeth Gash and the Angel Hotel, all of which are located around the Market Square. The Tourist Information centre on Lady Street is also taking part.
On Sunday 17 September, we'll also be showing how to weave cloth at The Guildhall.
Spinning takes place between 11am and 4pm on both days, so come along and see fibres spun into yarn on Saturday at all venues, and that yarn then woven into Lavenham blue cloth on Sunday exclusively at the Guildhall.
