Ice cream delights at Dunham Massey 

Drop in to Dunham’s traditional ice cream parlour for a delicious choice of locally made ice cream before heading out into the garden to play Victorian games. Choose a week of activities across the summer – from ‘50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ ‘ to picnics, games and crafts, and a week with our Ranger team.

Discover the mysterious seed which has landed from outer space, creating our magical Clockwork Garden full of wonderful things! Each week in summer there’ll be different activities linked to the Clockwork Garden - from creating crafts to stuff about science – simply amazing!.

Discover Charlie, Lola and friends at Lyme 

Check out our Charlie & Lola interactive garden trail this summer as well as seeing some of Lauren Child’s wonderful illustrations of her cheeky characters! Keep a look out for gorgeous baby deer in the parkland and tick off 30 activities from your list of ’50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ .

Skittles and spinning, painting and printing – just some of our family friendly activities this summer holiday at Little Moreton Hall where you can find out how the Tudors spent their day. You could tick off grass blowing, making a daisy chain or barefoot walking from your ’50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ list as well!

Summer of fun at Hare Hill 

Pick up a mini wheelbarrow and help us to collect compost for our huge compost heap every Thursday at Hare Hill. Go birdwatching or bug hunting as part of ’50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ – and look out for our giant hares in the woods!

Digging up the past at Rufford Old Hall 

Join our dig for Tudor artefacts at Rufford this summer, play sports or challenge your family to a game of chess with our giant outdoor chess set. Rufford’s a great place for ’50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾’. You can tick of den building, birdwatching and bug hunting for starters!

Look out for tigers in the dunes at Formby! 

Help us spot dune Tiger Beetles at Formby this summer or investigate our prehistoric footprints on the shoreline. Then, try stone skimming, wave jumping, catching a crab or exploring a rock pool, and tick them off your list of ’50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ .

We’re celebrating 150 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter on our family Peter Rabbit trail through Mr McGregor’s garden. Then, why not dip into the Speke sports box to play football, badminton, tennis, or get lost in our Victorian maze?.
