A warm welcome awaits you
Here at Mount Stewart, we realise that as the winter months draw near, everyone needs that extra bit of sparkle! Edith, Lady Londonderry understood the importance of making sure that her home delighted both her and her guests in winter, just as her gardens had delighted and inspired throughout the summer.
So, as a special treat this winter season, we invite you to leave the winter chill outside and step inside the decadent and delicious interiors of Mount Stewart. Every weekend (from Saturday 4th November), we shall be conducting guided tours of Mount Stewart’s most glamorous and interesting rooms – some of which have never been seen by the public before!
Guided tours will commence from the Entrance Hall of the house, where a roaring log fire will truly welcome you to Edith’s home. Guests will then be guided around some of Mount Stewart’s most evocative spaces, with the tour including the present family’s private sitting room, the Drawing Room, the Dining Room and 1950’s Kitchen, as well as Lady Londonderry’s private suite of bedrooms and bathrooms, recently restored, and shown exclusively this winter for the first time since being gifted to the National Trust.
Guests can immerse themselves in the private rooms of Edith Londonderry, see her red velvet bed, her huge tub bath, and the dressing table where she applied her make-up. Come and connect with the true spirit of Mount Stewart, and immerse yourself in Edith’s colourful and magnificent home.
Guided tours run on Sat & Sun, 11am – 3pm
