As Mr Straw’s House is one of the smallest National Trust properties we offer pre-booked, timed tours, to ensure you get the most out of your visit. With a 2019 theme of The Straw’s on the Home Front why not get in touch to book a slot on one of our lead tours, or self-guide in the afternoon? As Mr Straw’s House is one of the smallest National Trust properties we offer pre-booked, timed tours, to ensure you get the most out of your visit.
As we are small, yet perfectly formed you will need to book in advance onto one of our tours. Tours run from Tuesday to Saturday during the main season with the first guided tours starting at 10:00 am and from 12:30pm, you can take a self- guided tour.
Tours at Mr Straw's House do fill up quickly due to the small size of each tour (4 people). We would advise you ring as soon as possible to arrange your visit. However, if you want to visit on the day please do call in advance of setting off and we will try and accommodate your booking.
Bookings for the 2019 season are now open. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates.

Mr Straw's House has 3 flights of steep stairs in each property, so appropriate footwear is advised. In the event that a member of your party is unable to manage the stairs, we are able to offer a virtual tour from the tea room. Please do let us know if you have any access requirements at the time of booking.
Bags are not allowed in Mr Straw's House so all bags, including handbags and camera cases, will need to be stored securely in reception for the duration of your visit.
Please note that if you send an email request, or leave a voicemail, your booking has not been confirmed until you have received communication from us.
For groups larger than 8, special arrangements will need to be made. Please call the booking line, or email the details of your group to begin the booking process. We offer a range of experiences for groups including evening tours. To discuss these opportunities please do call us.
