Sports and activities
Whether you fancy a gentle jog around the parkland or a cycle ride further afield come and find out what exciting activities Nostell has to offer. With all-weather paths that stretch up to Obelisk Lodge, you can explore the parkland whatever the season.
With over 300 acres of parkland to explore the Nostell estate is the perfect place for a gentle jog or longer run. Follow the paths through peaceful woodland, enjoy lakeside views and discover the Obelisk Lodge. If you need a bit of motivation to get you going, we have a Saturday morning parkrun throughout the year and a beginners running club on Monday evenings, April - September. Check our what's on page for details.
There are plenty of routes through the estate to explore on two wheels, including two bike-only trails through beautiful woodland. Perfect for families, the green cycle-only route is best for little legs and the blue route has a few more ups and downs for a bit more of a challenge. Download the trail at the bottom of the page for more details.
Visit our stables courtyard where you will find secure cycle racks and essential tools to borrow for any running repairs.
If you like riding with company, look out for the easy led cycle rides organised by Wakefield Disrict Cycle Forum every first Tuesday and third Sunday of the month.
Nostell parkland is an ideal place to bring the family for a walk in the fresh air through rolling landscapes, woodland and meadows. Grab a map and follow our marked trails to explore for yourself, or join one of our many guided walks if you prefer to walk in company.
