Shopping at Petworth House

Summer themes and styles in the Petworth shop

Take inspiration from Petworth's unique art collection and landscape and find the perfect mementoes and gifts to take home in our two gift shops.

Servants' Quarters Gift Shop

Formally the Upper Servants' Dining Room, our shop has plenty of great gifts; exclusive National Trust ranges as well as a wonderful selection of local products, open 10am to 4pm.

We stock a large range of books including local maps and walks, great for learning that little bit more about your visit and exploring the area.

Take home some locally made wine, cider, preserves and biscuits. We often have samples to taste in the shop so make sure to stop by to see what's available.

Keep an eye out on our latest offers and sales that change throughout the year.

New summer lines

Did you know that just 3% of the meadows that existed in the 1930s remain - 97% of meadows have disappeared. This decline is one of the biggest issues in the history of UK nature conservation.

Inspired by meadows and species-rich grasslamds, this summer our style in the shop embraces the nature of shared spaces available to everyone and everything.

Outdoor summer items in the Petworth shop

Celebrating the wildflowers of Sutton Lane Meadows in Wiltshire, look our for our style inpired by a haze of grass and wildflowers. Also in the range of patterns taken from the orchids of Plas Newydd in Wales and the grasses of the ancient hay meadows at Gibside Hall.

New outdoor plants sold at Petworth

Petworth plant sales

New for 2019 we now sell outdoor plants from the Car Park Reception. Seen a plant in the grounds that you'd like to see in your own garden? We sell some of the same flowers and plants that grow in our Pleasure Ground.

Petworth features in the new National Trust food line

Two paintings from the collection at Petworth House have been chosen to decorate packaging for two of the National Trust's newest preserves and snacks.

Pick up the Wild Garlic and Rosemary Biscotti or the Grapefruit & Gin Marmalade and take home a piece of Petworth with you.

Although garlic has been used for flavour and health since ancient times, it was associated with peasants and poverty for most of history. The Wild Garlic and Rosemary Biscotti includes an image of Petworth's A Peasant Family by Antoine Le Nain (1588-1648), Louis Le Nain (1593-1648) and Mathieu Le Nain (1607-1677).

A keen bookworm? Pop into our two secondhand bookshops and you'll find a wide selection of books from non-fiction and fiction to children's. There's a lot to discover, with the shelves regularly updated you could find that out of print book that you've been searching for, new author to try, or just the perfect book to dive into. The bookshops are located in what was once part of the Estate Office (accessible by stairs) and the ground floor Stewards Room. Good quality donations are gratefully received and can be left at our Church Lodge Reception.
