The Petworth café at Christmas
During a visit to Petworth stop by our café and enjoy a hearty festive meal in the historic surroundings of the Servants' Quarters.
We have been nominted for Café Of The Year 2018. Pick up your copy of the Chichester Observer and fill out the voucher and post to the Observer to vote for us.
The Audit Room
Originally built as a sculpture gallery in 1836, the room later became a handy place for hosting large dinners for tenant famers and even Christmas parties for the servants. That story is still alive today and the room is now the ideal place to enjoy a meal or have a drink with friends and family on your visit to Petworth.
The Christmas menu
Enjoy something hearty this Christmas, perfect to fill you with energy for a walk around Petworth Park.
Inspired by our Georgian theme in the house we are stepping away from Turkey in the café, Georgian aristocrats ate game at this time of year, and we'll be service a Game Pithivier.
Gingerbread was another classic introduced by the Georgians and we have plenty in supply inspired by a historic recipe.
Still in the spirit of Christmas you can find a Brie and Redcurrany jelly sandwich or a prok and redcurrent pie as well as classic National Trust meals like the Leek and Potato soup, a vegetarian Squash and Butterbean Hotpot and for dessert, a Spiced Apple and Plum crumble with custard or Treacle Tart.
You can also get your hands on a warming cup of mulled wine in December or for those after a more traditional treat you can try the mulled cider wassail.
New for this winter we also have syrups to go in hot drinks. Try the gingerbread or cinnamon in your coffee for that festive lift and you can opt for a mug to really feel cosy.
New breakfast menu
New for Petworth, try our bacon or egg baguettes served between 10am and 12noon every day.
