'Studio in Action' exhibition by The Material Girls
Local art collective The Material Girls created a temporary studio in the Hayloft at Rainham Hall during February 2016. Please note this is a past event.
The Material Girls are a group of textile artists based in Essex and London, who have been exhibiting together for over a decade. Revelling in their differences, this talented group strives to present the very best of technique and concept to create awareness of the wonderful diversity of textile art.
In this, the first of many exhibitions at Rainham Hall's Hayloft, they showcased work inspired the life and times of merchant Captain John Harle (1688-1742), the first inhabitant of Rainham Hall and subject of our first major exhibition.
Rainham Hall was delighted to host The Material Girls temporary 'Studio in action' from 17-28 February 2016, which opened Wednesdays to Sundays 11am-3pm in the Hayloft. Admission to the 'Studio in action' was free and the artists were in attendance to talk about their work.
