Autumn approaching? It must be time for the Wey River Festival

You know how a change in the weather sometimes heralds memories? Well its a bit like that with the River Festival - evenings drawing in a bit, a hint of a chill in the mornings and we know it must be time for it...

23 September brings the Wey River Festival back to Dapdune Wharf in Guildford - with a variety of stands, pony rides, food and of course, the fantastic illuminated pageant. The Wharf opens at 11:00 and there'll be lots to do all day.

Fingers crossed that the sun shines again as we welcome boaters and visitors alike to celebrate everything that is great about the river.  There'll be plenty to do, such as willow weaving, a climbing wall, bouncy pirate boat, Surrey Wood Turners and plenty of crafts and children's activities.  There'll be foodie stalls, with local jam and honey as well as things to eat.

The highlight of the day is the illuminated pageant at dusk, with boats travelling from the centre of Guildford to Dapdune Wharf, brilliantly lit up and serenaded on arrival at Dapdune by the Croyden Steel Orchestra.
