The Dapdune bookshed

Dapdune Wharf bookshop in Carpenters' shed

The Book Shed offers a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, plus a large children’s selection, DVDs and CDs. From art, biographies and history to food & drink, travel and crime fiction you’ll find all this and more in our unique book shop by the waters edge, with friendly and knowledgeable volunteers on hand to help.

You’ll also find more fiction, and a little non-fiction, including recipe books on sale in the tearoom. So why not settle in the tearoom garden for lunch with your favourite bestseller, or grab a takeaway beverage and stroll down to the Book Shed? We’d love to see you.

Opening times

The Book Shed is open Thursday to Monday, 10.30am – 5.00pm, and 7 days a week during local school holidays.

We welcome donations of second-hand books

Our success depends on generous donations, and we warmly welcome your pre-loved books when you visit. The funds raised contribute to important conservation work on the River Wey. You can donate by bringing your books to the ticket hut in the main car park, tearoom or Book Shed on any day when Dapdune Wharf is open. To enquire about donating books, please ask in the shop or email riverwey@nationaltrust.org.uk.

Volunteering

Finally, if you’re passionate about books, and like the idea of converting that passion into selling books to help our conservation work, join our team as a volunteer. You can read more about the book shop role on the Get Involved page of the website.
