What's on this autumn at Dapdune Wharf?

Three children dressed up in spooky clothes

As the days shorten and the mists roll in, there's plenty of atmosphere on the river...

Good news

The Wharf is free to enter and fully open. Enjoy a stroll around the island, browse the bookshed and the plant stall or treat yourself to a hot or cold drink with a pastry or a sandwich from the café.

What's on?

You can book a boat trip from Dapdune Wharf into the centre of Guildford and back, or choose to go the more rural route downstream - its up to you.  We are releasing tickets every Thursday on this website.

Our amazing Spooktacular 2k family fun run will take place at dusk on 30 October.  No need to book, just turn up in your frightenly horrible costumes and register when you arrive.  The fun starts at 6.30, but please allow time for registration beforehand.

You could download our butterfly spotter sheet and take it with you on a towpath walk - see who can spot the most.

Our friends from Fluid Adventures and SHAC are continuing their paddleboarding and kayaking sessions on the river. You can join them with advance booking, see The Surrey Hills Adventure Company and Fluid Adventures - visit their websites before you come.

Looking further ahead, our wreath-making sessions have found a new home at Dapdune Wharf.  This is one of the most popular events of the year and we look forward to seeing old friends and new faces.  You can book online for this event.

There is no admission fee. Parking is free for National Trust members but non-National Trust members will have to pay to park. Please look for the signs in the car park.

You can pay for car parking by downloading the PayByPhone app onto your smartphone. If you want to find out about the benefits of National Trust membership, please take a look on our website here, where you can join easily online.

Boat trips

Boat trips last approx. 40 mins, they must be booked in advance, and are limited to family/household bubble groups and a maximum of 10 people per boat. Please note: there must be 2 adults on each boat trip.  Dogs on leads permitted on site but boats only allow assistance dogs. Refreshments available with inside and outside seating.

There are two options for the boat trip: the Time Traveller boat heads into Guildford town centre looking at the history of the Wey Navigation and its place in the development of Guildford as a leading town in Surrey.

River Watch goes downstream towards Stoke Lock.  We'll be looking out for the flash of blue as the kingfisher streams past ahead of the boat.

You will be able to choose which direction you travel in when you arrive.  Please go to the Ticket Hut on arrival.
