Plant sales area at Sheffield Park
Be sure to pop along to our plant sales area which stocks a wealth of garden essentials. From colourful bedding plants to the signature trees you will see whilst wandering the garden; or from crafted garden furniture to vibrant waterlilies.
Inspired by the garden
There is inspiration around every turn in Sheffield Park and our plant sales area reflects this.
With over 14,500 trees in the estate you can imagine that we stock a variety of trees. Look out for some of our signature species including the autumn star Nyssa sylvatica 'Sheffield Park'. A mature tree sits at the heart of the plant area so you see the dramatic colours for yourself.
We are equally famous for our waterlilies (Nymphaea) and you will find a selection of these elegant plants for sale from spring to autumn, along with other marginal pond plants.
Through the seasons
Throughout the year our plant sales area stocks a range of beautiful trees, crafted furniture, and fantastc plant pots; along with a wide variety of plants to suit all gardens.
There is always something new to see and here are a few of our seasonal highlights:
- Spring - Start the season with bright and bold primulas and hellebores or pick-up your summer flowering bulbs. Then as spring sets in we stock veg and soft fruits which are ideal for a small home garden and grow well in pots if space and soil quality are an issue. Growing your own is also a great way for kids to get involved in the garden.
- Summer - Look out for a wide assortment of flowering bedding plants for a splash of instant colour. We have sizes to suit all gardens and they are also great in pots.
- Autumn - Autumn is all about the colourful trees and our Plant Sales Area reflects this.
- Winter - Potted Christmas trees and wreaths for a festive finish to the year.
Peat is hugely important to our planet for lots of reasons. It acts as a carbon store, it's a great habitat for wildlife, it has a role in water management, and preserves things well for archaeology.
In 2011, the Government pledged to phase out the use of peat in garden products by 2020 and in commercial use by 2030. We support these Government targets and are playing our part by going peat-free at our places including Sheffield Park.
