Our new Visitor Reception

Autumn trees

As part of the work we carried out over the winter of 2016, we’ve received planning permission to build a new temporary ticket office adjacent to the existing visitor car park.

We have built an 8.4m by 4.4m single storey ticket office, with a canopy, which is clad in cedar. The building includes a curved roof, aimed at replicating a Dutch barn which once stood nearby.

This is the main welcome and ticketing point for visitors and forms an integral part of the car park alteration scheme.

The new building aims to improve visitor experience but the old building, formerly used for visitor reception, won’t be lost either; we’ve used it for plant sales so visitors can pick up locally grown plants on the way back to their cars.
