Where can my dog go?

Dogs are more than welcome to visit Sissinghurst, there are plenty of walks around the estate that we're sure they'll love. Please note dogs are welcome across the estate but not within our formal garden.

Please keep your dog on a short lead throughout the estate.

Where can't my dog go?

Assistance dogs only in the The Granary Restaurant and cafe, the formal garden, collection spaces, and shop.

Should you wish to visit the tea-room, there's plenty of outside seating where you and your dog may sit and enjoy refreshments. Please leave your dog outside when ordering. Alternativly pop up to The Old Dairy where pups are more than welcome.

What do I need to be aware of at Sissinghurst Castle Garden

To make sure everyone has an enjoyable day please follow our Canine Code:

  • Take the lead: help reduce the chance of your pup disturbing wildlife by keeping them on a short lead.
  • Scoop that poop: bag it and bin it to keep your favourite places beautiful.
  • Paws for thought: look out for information signs.
  • Be on the ball: not everyone loves dogs, so keep them close by.

Facilities for my dog

There are water bowls outside the Granary Restaurant and at visitor reception.

We have three dog waste bins dotted around our site to help owners dispose of unwanted dog litter. The locations are listed below, if you need a hand finding any of these please ask at visitor reception and they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

  • In the orchard next to the top bay of the car park.
  • Near the back of the Elizabethan barn which is next to the shop.
  • At the entrance gate to lake field.

We're not alone in our love for dogs, there are lots of National Trust properties that would be happy to welcome your four legged companions, take a look below to find other great dog walking places nearby.
