The Granary restaurant at Sissinghurst Castle Garden

Visitors in the granary restaurant

When you find yourself in need of refreshment, look no further than our restaurant. There are Lots of cakes and savoury treats to be found which are freshly made by our baker.

Food feet, not miles

Feeling hungry after a walk around our estate? Enjoy a lunch prepared from our seasonally changing menu.

Our tasty menus are created by our Head Chef Clemmie, who works with our team of Vegetable Gardeners to create dishes inspired by Sissinghurst which highlight the season's best produce. Vegetables and soft fruit growing in the garden you can see across the field from the restaurant window, moves a matter of feet, not miles before it lands on your plate. In the coffee shop, find a selection of cakes, soup and sandwiches for a quick refuel. Find out more about our vegetable plot below.

Sunday roasts

Nothing quite hits the spot like a classic sunday roast, with a changing menu that features either beef, lamb or pork with all the usual accompaniments, we're sure it will be the perfect winter warmer. All dishes are served with a variety of our plot vegetables.

Seasonal highlights from the estate

Try our new pear and apple pie with caramel sauce with apples and pears picked from our orchards by the ranger team. If you're after something savoury than our roasted red pepper and squash soup could be just the thing for you, with squashes from the veg garden which can also be purchased from the plant shop if you'd like to try and recreate the soup at home.

Chicken and leek pie

Puddings and Pies

There's no time quite like autumn to indulge in some good food. As the colder nights draw in it seems all the more appropriate to tuck into some hearty warming dishes. From 7 October until the 10 November our head chef will be adding a fortnightly pie and pudding to the menu, which will include ingredients grown only a few feet away in our vegetable garden. Pies, puddings and all hot food is served between 12 and 3pm every day. Be sure to visit the restaurant throughout autumn to satisfy any of your food cravings.
