Pick of the patch

When Donald and Anne Gimson cultivated Stoneywell's four acres of garden, they dreamed of something in colour every week of the year. That couldn't be more evident than during autumn, when the trees in the garden and woodland cover the vistas in a blanket of golds and oranges, while freshly arranged flowers and William Morris prints and designs bring the outside in. Stoneywell is a hidden gem, an unspoilt escape to the technicoloured countryside and a return to the simpler things in life.
