A family autumn at Stourhead
There’s something to do at weekends, half-term and Hallowe’en for all the family, whatever the weather may bring.
If you feel like exploring outdoors, then pick up one of the family trial leaflets, packed fully of fun adventures. From finding special autumn trees and answering questions about things you may find on your journey around the garden and into the temples. The trail leaflets are available from 15 October.
If you want to be a little wilder, then why not use one of the Tracker packs, available from visitor reception. These are designed to help young explorers get a little bit closer to nature.
If you’re feeling brave enough, why not pick up the Stourhead ghost story available from the garden entrances during half term.
There is also the National Trust’s 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ campaign, and many of the activities can be done year round. Why not see if you can tick off any of the activities like play conkers, explore inside a tree, and explore a cave. There’s loads more to have a go at as well, so see if you can do all 50 before you turn 11 ¾?
If the weather starts to turn more wintery, then there is a lot to do inside as well. Not only does the family tail leaflet take you into the house, but there is also a special trail around the house where you have to hunt for hidden pumpkins. How many will you spot?
In the basement of the house there is dressing up and games, fun for all the family, and perfect if you need to shelter from a rain shower or two.
