Autumn getaways to Stourhead

A view across the lake at Stourhead in autumn

The world famous garden at Stourhead is visited by thousands during autumn, all drawn by the wonderful display of colours that change throughout the season.

One of the best times to see the garden is early in the morning, when the waters are still, the birds are singing, the trees are reflected in the lake, and you feel as though you have the garden all to yourself.

Not everyone lives close by and can enjoy early mornings in the garden so easily, so why not consider staying with us during autumn? We not only have a popular holiday cottage (89 Church Lawn) right by the garden gate, but also have a caravan club site.

The Spread Eagle Inn, a tenanted pub also offers accommodation, as does the Stourhead B&B. Both of these are just meters from the garden and offer wonderful breakfasts to set you off with a full tummy to start your exploring of Stourhead.
