The handrail on the battlements is an important part of the visitor journey. We hope to re-open the battlements by the end of November so that you can take in the spectacular autumnal views of the Lincolnshire countryside. The Battlements Re-Open

The battlements are once again open to all. It is a time to celebrate the dedication of everyone involved in the restoration process, and each and every visitor and supporter who allows special things like this to happen - protecting our heritage forever, for everyone.

On-Site Build

The building work begins on the battlements. This will include some shaping of timbers on site to ensure the handrail fits perfectly and is built according to the detailed plans drawn up in June.

Sourcing of Materials

The sourcing of The Required Materials begins based on the specification. Finding the right materials that adhered to health and safety regulations and in keeping with the castle is essential. This can take between 3 to 4 weeks to complete.
