House tickets

The house at Tyntesfield is very delicate, so to ensure it is conserved for future generations to enjoy, entry is by timed ticket.

July 2020: The house at Tyntesfield is currently closed. You can find out more on the links at the bottom of this page.

Visiting the house

Entry to Tyntesfield house is in one hour time slots. You can pick up your ticket at the ticket office, and access the house any time within your designated time - you don't need to leave by the time on your ticket - just enter. Entry to the house is one hour before it closes.

Please allow a 15 minute walk from the ticket office to the house entrance. A bus is available for Blue Badge holders and those with genuine need.

Reserving house tickets and paying for admission

The majority of house tickets are available on the day, but there are some available to book in advance, and if you are a non-member, you can also pay for your admission this way. It's worth noting that if you join as a member on the day of your visit, you'll be able to enter Tyntesfield for free, but we'll be unable to refund any tickets booked in advance.

You can pre-book your house visit from our events page, here, they can be booked up to 24 hours in advance of your visit.

Making a day of it

Your house ticket also includes entrance to the gardens and wider estate, perfect for a day's exploring. The welcome map, available at the ticket office, is great for taking on your adventures as it shows the paths across the estate, and the locations of our play areas, cafe and restaurant.

Throughout the year, we have an exciting programme of seasonal events. For more information, check out our events page. If you're planning a visit at Christmas, please see the link below.
