Join us for a day of elegance, wit, and Regency charm as Serenity Booksellers mark 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen with author talks, book stalls and Regency dancing.

  • Booking essential

To celebrate both Austen's 250th birthday and the 30 year anniversary of the BBC's 'Pride and Prejudice', filmed at Lyme, join Serenity Booksellers for:

- Author talks exploring Austen's life, works and enduring legacy

- Live Regency dancing

- Fancy dress: come in your finest Regency attire, or visit Lyme's very own Dressing Room during the day to experience Pemberley like an Austen character

- Book stall brimming with Austen novels, biographies, and inspired works

and more surprises throughout the day.

Whether you’re a devoted Janeite or simply curious to step back in time, this will be a day of literature, laughter, and lively conversation. Prepare your bonnets, dust off your dancing slippers, and join us to honour one of the most beloved authors in English literature.

Spend a day immersed in books and conversation at Lyme House, where all author events will be held in the elegant Saloon and atmospheric Chapel.

We’re delighted to welcome four outstanding authors:

Sophie Andrews - 'The Ultimate Jane Austen Quiz Book'

Professor Ros Ballaster - 'Jane Austen’s Fashion Bible'

Amelia Blackwell - 'A Crime Through Time'

Jess Shannon - 'Cleaner'

Serenity Booksellers' co-owner, Kelly will be hosting a talk on Jane Austen's life, works and adaptations that have influenced us all, and her personally as a book seller for many years. Co-owner, Chris will be hosting a Jane Austen quiz where there will be some fabulous Austen goodies to be won!
