Wild Wonder: Summer family workshops

Reconnect with nature in sessions led by wellness expert Tansy Dowman blending mindfulness, creativity and movement.

  • Booking essential
  • Admission applies

This gentle and engaging family session is designed to help children and their parents or guardians reconnect with the natural world through play, curiosity and sensory exploration. Blending mindful outdoor activities with creativity and movement, the experience encourages families to slow down together, engage their senses and discover the wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature.

Led by local outdoor wellness practitioner and TEDx speaker Tansy Dowman, the session will include a variety of playful and interactive activities suitable for mixed ages. Families may explore sensory awareness exercises, mindful movement, discovery games, seasonal scavenger challenges, natural mandala making and simple crafting using materials found in the landscape.

Each week features a different nature-themed activity, so there's always something new to discover. What's happening each week?

Nature's Patterns: Discover the colours, shapes and patterns hidden throughout the natural world.

Nature Explorers: Explore the woodland and discover nature through fresh eyes.

Nature Creatures: Create charming woodland creatures and build mini homes using natural materials.

Nature's Art Gallery: Become a nature artist and help transform the woodland into your very own outdoor gallery.

These sessions are recommended for children aged 4–11 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Please note, this activity will take place outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather.
