Enjoy a talk and guided walk around Canons Ashby's grounds on a search for our favourite flying mammals. See what different species you can find and learn more about their habits and habitats with our guests from the Oxfordshire Bat Group.
Please wear sturdy outdoor footwear, dress for the weather and bring a torch. This will go ahead in poor weather unless it is unsafe to do so.

Park in the normal visitor car park and follow directions

Dress for the weather whatever it brings, and wear sensible shoes for walking on uneven countryside ground
- Accessibility
This is a walking visit which goes up and down slopes and over uneven surfaces. The sound in the church can be echoey and tricky for those with low hearing. If you are concerned about hearing it may be best to sit as close to the guest speaker as possible - please let us know. For any other queries about access please ask.

Find out more about the medieval history of Canons Ashby with a guided visit to the church, and then to the restored medieval stew ponds: an area not accessible to the public without a guide. There are 30 spaces on this walk to sign up on the day.
Classical Recorder Music in the Church
Enjoy classical recorder music with a French theme in the Priory Church, performed by the Nene Consort. There’s no extra charge or formal ticketing: feel free to pop in and out as you wish or take a pew and enjoy the whole hour.
Guided countryside walks
On the third Thursday of the month from May to October, come and explore our surrounding countryside on a 6-mile walk, enjoy the fantastic views and get out in the fresh air with our walking guides.
