Presented in partnership with Derbyshire Makes as part of the Women Who Make programme, this special event at Hardwick Hall celebrates the creativity, skill and stories of women makers past and present.

From historic tapestries to contemporary craft, Hardwick offers a powerful backdrop to explore how women’s creativity has shaped culture, community and everyday life across generations. Bringing together artists, makers, thinkers and audiences, the day invites visitors to connect, discover and take part through making, conversation and shared experience.

Derbyshire Makes is Derbyshire County Council’s flagship 3-year cultural programme funded by Derbyshire County Council and Arts Council England as a Place Partnership Project and being delivered in partnership with Local and Arts Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Makes celebrates the past present and future of making in all its forms. From craft, design and manufacturing to contemporary creative practice – through festivals, commissions, community projects, skills activity and touring events across Derbyshire.
