Visiting Attingham at Christmas

Over the years at Christmas, Attingham has often relied on the grass overflow car park. Wet winters linked to climate change now make that difficult. The long-range forecast shows more rain ahead, so we do not expect to open the overflow again this season. To make sure everyone can enjoy their visit smoothly and avoid turning anyone away, we’re trialling an extension of the pre-booking system to include Grounds Only visits.

Temporary Pre-Booking for Grounds Visits: 20 December - 1 January

Over the years at Christmas, Attingham has often relied on the grass overflow car park. Wet winters linked to climate change now make that difficult. The long-range forecast shows more rain ahead, so we do not expect to open the overflow again this season.

To make sure everyone can enjoy their visit smoothly and avoid turning anyone away, we’re trialling an extension of the pre-booking system to include Grounds Only visits. Grounds Only visits after 9.30am will require pre-booking from Saturday 20 December to Thursday 1 January.

This temporary change helps us manage visitor numbers and avoid queues. As General Manager Mark Agnew explains:
“You come to Attingham to relax, not to queue for parking. By asking Grounds Only visitors to book, we can keep your experience running smoothly.”
