Family Trail: Motte & Bailey Investigate the Viking Raid on Watchet Mint

Motte & Bailey are back! Step back in time on their latest time‑travel adventure and help them recover the precious Saxon silver coins from the Viking raiders. Complete the trail and earn a collectable badge!

Detective duo, Motte & Bailey, have travelled back in time to the 10th Century. Vikings have raided the Royal Mint in the nearby harbour town of Watchet and stolen some Saxon silver coins. The Vikings have hidden the coins in the castle grounds for safe keeping until they board their longships at sea. Can you help Motte & Bailey recover the coins and return them to the Royal Mint?

Follow the trail, crack the clues and take part in hands‑on activities as you learn all about the Vikings & Saxons!

This event runs daily from Saturday 23rd May until Sunday 12th July.
