We welcome all well-behaved dogs that are on a short lead (not extendable leads please), outdoors across the site (except the playground area). This makes Wentworth Castle Gardens the perfect place for a walk, as you have acres of gardens and parkland to explore.
Assistance dogs are allowed inside all our buildings - including the Long Barn and Conservatory.
Take the lead
There are several reasons that we ask for dogs to be kept on short leads, the main reason being the safety of your dog and our parkland animals.
Wentworth Castle Gardens is home to lots of deer, who although they may be hard to spot, are roaming in our large fields and are vulnerable if startled by dogs, particularly when they have their young with them or are in the rutting season.
We offer short National Trust dog leads for you to borrow from the Visitor Reception Building should you need one.
Eating and drinking
We have outdoor seating at our Long Barn café for you to sit and enjoy some food with your pooch.
Water bowls are located in our Visitor Reception Building and outside our Long Barn café.
