Visiting Wentworth Castle Gardens with your dog
Wentworth Castle Gardens welcomes all well-behaved dogs and their humans. To make sure that everyone has an enjoyable visit, we have put together some tips if you are bringing your four-legged friend on a day trip.
Where can my dogs go?
Dogs are welcome on fixed short leads throughout the gardens and parkland. Extendable leads are not permitted as they can create a danger to other visitors and to wildlife, if dogs are not kept under close control. Fixed leads are available to borrow from the visitor welcome building.
We have a dog friendly area inside our Long Barn café for you to sit and enjoy a cuppa and scone with your pooch. However, this will not be available until social distancing restrictions have eased.
We also have outdoor seating at the Long Barn café.
Where can't my dogs go?
Dogs are not allowed in the playground area and only assistance dogs are allowed inside the Conservatory.
What do I need to be aware of at Wentworth Castle Gardens?
To make sure everyone has an enjoyable day please follow our Canine Code:
- Take the lead: help reduce the chance of your pup disturbing wildlife by keeping them on a short lead.
- Scoop that poop: bag it and bin it to keep your favourite places beautiful.
- Paws for thought: look out for information signs and take extra care in the parkland.
- Be on the ball: not everyone loves dogs, so keep them close by.
Facilities available for my dog
