Fulfil your New Year's resolutions at Winkworth Arboretum

Rowe's Flashe Lake in low winter sun

Shake away the January blues and kickstart your New Year's resolutions at Winkworth Arboretum. Whatever your goals, this historic leafy hillshide will keep you inspired the whole year through.

Feel healthier

There's no better way to get fit than in the great outdoors. Winkworth's 149 acres contain dozens of pathways with varying levels of challenge, so you can start off gently and work your way up (if you choose) to a rewarding jog up the hillside. And with 1000+ varieties of trees and shrubs, you'll notice something new every time.

Learn a new skill

If you're looking to develop new skills this year, why not try gardening in a nationally renowned arboretum? We're always looking for volunteers to help us with our vital conservation work.  Join our friendly garden team and you could learn how to coppice a tree, how to build a fence and many more practical skills.

Spend more time with the family

Winkworth is the perfect venue for an adventurous family walk, with amenities for everyone and children's trails in every school holiday. Come for a climb in the play area and a slice of homemade cake in the cosy tea-room, or venture deeper into the woods and see what you can find.

Give time or money to charity

It's thanks to our supporters that we're able to protect special places like Winkworth Arboretum. There are so many ways you can contribute, from volunteering as a fundraiser to carving pumpkins at Hallowe'en, or simply buying a raffle ticket to support our work (and maybe even bagging £10,000 in the process!). If you'd like to find out more about ways to give, we'd love to hear from you.
