Arrive in style by boat

Windermere Cruise Boat, Tern, on Windermere, Cumbria

Wray Castle has its own jetty, so arrive in style by boat and make the journey part of your family day out. The boat service to the Castle starts on 5 April 2019.

The gothic boat house and hidden jetty make the perfect arrival point at Wray Castle. Then it's just a short walk up to the castle entrance.
Boats run throughout the day from Waterhead Pier (Ambleside) and visitors receive 10% discount on single transactions over £10 at the castle shop when they show a boat ticket, valid for that day.
If you're bringing your bike over during the summer holidays, hop on the Bike Boat from Brockhole to arrive at Bark Barn, situated between Claife Viewing Station and Wray Castle. This service is run by Windermere Lake Cruises.
