Get outdoors at A la Ronde

Spring in Northern Ireland

A la Ronde enjoys a wonderful outlook across the Exe estuary to the east Devon coastline. Strategically placed seats in the grounds enable visitors to relax and take in the scenery on a crisp spring morning. For the more energetic it's fun to walk around the meadow and view the house from a lower angle.

A compendium of garden games

Family fun with one of our free garden games. Grab a mallet and play some croquet (deposit required) or have a go at the giant game of snakes and ladders. Test your skills with the hoopla and steady your hand for a game of Jenga.

A wander through the meadow

Enjoy a spring walk around the meadow, a fantastic way to see this unusual house from all angles.  There is also a brass rubbing trail around the outside of the meadow for all to enjoy.
The meadow is still teeming with the sights and sounds of nature getting ready for the summer. Take a look at our two nature spotters sheets and see what plants you can find.

An orchard picnic

Have a stroll around this beautiful orchard and collect some windfall apples in autumn.  There are also picnic tables where you can enjoy the fresh air as you eat your lunch.

Paws for thought

We are very dog friendly here at A la Ronde, as long as they are on their leads.  We offer them a cool drink by the Laundry and also outside the shop.  In our shop with have tasty treats for your hungry hounds to enjoy.  Your dogs are also welcome in the first part of the tea room and also by the outside seating; they can also enjoy the meadow walk.

The water tower and laundry

Have a look at the water tower and laundry built to provide hot water to the first floor of A la Ronde, the height of Victorian luxury.
