Long view of church wall

Help repair Avebury Manor garden wall

These walls are not only a lovely feature of Avebury Manor, they are also a wildlife habitat, supporting a number of insect species within the cracks and crevices, even small birds are nesting in between the sarsen blocks that make it up. These locally sourced sarsen stones, some of which may have even come from those forming the stone circles, keep the heat, warm the garden borders and enclose the Church and Monks Gardens. Thatched walls are very characteristic of Wiltshire.
