Half-term fun at Belton this February

Children enjoying a muddy walk

Pull on your wellies, snuggle up in your cosiest scarf and gloves, and have some fun at Belton House. There’s lots to do inside and out: get creative in the discovery centre, trek the parkland to discover Belton’s winter wildlife or tick some challenges off your #50Things list in Lincolnshire’s biggest outdoor adventure playground.

Join in the family activities happening at Belton this half-term:

Winter wildlife family trail

Sat. 10 – Sun. 18 February, 9.30am-3.30pm
Pick up a wildlife trail and become a naturalist for the day. Trek the parkland route and discover which animals call Belton home over winter. Free badge for all great explorers! £2 per trail.

Half-term fun in the Discovery Centre

Sat. 10 – Sun. 18 February, 11am-3pm
Open every day of the school holidays. Come along to discover more about birds at Belton with activities and crafts for all the family to enjoy *. There’ll even be a chance to make a bird box (£3.50) or feeder (£1.50) to take home.

#50things parkland winter walk

Mon. 12 February, 11am and 2pm
Join a Belton ranger for a winter walk to Towthorpe ponds and complete some #50things challenges along the way. *

Lakeside bird hide

Tues. 13 February, 11am-3pm
Find the pop-up bird hide by the Fishing Lodge Lake in the garden and see what wildlife you can spot. *

The big Belton birdwatch

Wed. 14 February, 11am and 2pm
Come along for a big birdwatching day at Belton and discover what birds visit us at this time of year *. Then head to the Discovery Centre to make a birdbox or feeder to take home, from £1.50.

Ranger pack adventures

From Thurs. 15 February, 12.30-3pm
Pick up a ranger pack from the Discovery Centre to explore Belton’s wildlife in the gardens and parkland. *

Boathouse imagining

Thurs. 15 February, 12-3pm
Local artist, Jan Osbond invites you to sketch, paint or create your vision of Belton’s restored boathouse. Using your imagination what do you see for the future of this special place? All art supplies provided. The riverside workshop will be located next to the boathouse, by the playground. *

Friday #50things challenge

Fri. 16 February, 11am-3pm
Join us to tick #44 off of your '50 things to do before you're 11 ¾ ' checklist and go bird watching! Join the Play team in the outdoor adventure playground to get involved. *

All aboard

Attention all passengers, collect a choo-choo loyalty card from Belton’s miniature ghost train to receive your tenth journey free. Train tickets cost £1.50 per ride.
