Our work

Cattle grazing at Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire

Cattle grazing at Brimham Rocks

In a few years we will be introducing cattle to graze the moorland at Brimham Rocks. The cattle will be a gentle, but hardy breed, that will graze the vegetation to maintain a healthy habitat.

Heather moorland at Brimham Rocks, Nidderdale, North Yorkshire

Our conservation projects on heather moorland

We're home to three rare species of heather including ling heather, bell heather and cross-leaved heath. These plants have helped us achieve the status of Site of Special Scientific Interest meaning the work we do here to preserve our moorland habitat is important on a world-wide scale.
