Christmas at Brimham Rocks
Once upon a time there was a dancing bear, an eagle and a turtle……….. Stories, we all love them and with the festive period getting closer we’re thinking about stories and wreaths this December at Brimham Rocks. Not forgetting seasonal offerings in the shop and the kiosk.
Christmas wreath making workshops
'Joy to the world, have festive fun.....'
To begin with, in early December, ranger Cath will once again be running our popular Christmas wreath making workshops. Decorative foliage collected from the grounds of our friends at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal will be used to create your own, personal wreath. What makes our workshops particularly special is that you’ll also create your own wreath frame, made from birch collected from the Brimham landscape, that you'll go on to decorate. You will then be able to re-use your frame year after year.
‘Tis the season to tell stories, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la’
Last Christmas we started what we hope will become a new traditional event at Brimham Rocks over the festive season, midwinter storytelling. Noel Watkins returns this year with a new selection of stories, songs and of course riddles too inspired by the winter season and looking forward to the new year ahead. Noel will also read a story based upon Brimham Rocks. In a change from last year, sessions will be suited to different age groups so remember to check when you're booking that the session you have selected is right for your children. But fear not, we'll once again be including a tasty, festive treat for the children to enjoy.
‘All I want for Christmas are some greetings cards ’
Some love it, some hate it, both equally with a passion. However Christmas shopping is just as traditional now as the decorations, mince pies and carols. We’ve been stocking up the shop with a new range of Christmas goodies and we’ve got a selection of tempting offers to help you fill those infamous stockings. We'll be bringing you details in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
'We wish you a merry Christmas with some tasty fresh grub'
If shopping is one festive tradition, food and drink is defintiely another one. Our kiosk team are currently preparing a menu of tasty morsels and beverages to delight the whole family on their visit during Christmas but for the moment the details will be kept tightly under wraps.
