Walk in the monks' footsteps from Brimham Rocks to Fountains Abbey, following the ancient trail. There are excellent views from Riva Hill to Brimham Rocks.

Brimham Rocks to Pateley Bridge circular walk or walk & ride

This walk takes you by the river Nidd to Pateley Bridge, returning via the Nidderdale Way. You can also walk to Pateley Bridge and then take a bus back to Summerbridge. (Check bus timetables first.)

Nidderdale Cycling Loop

Set in and around the Nidderdale AONB this is a loop around one of the most beautiful areas of the Yorkshire Dales. The route is almost all off road and takes in a variety of terrains, ranging from gravel tracks through open moorland to narrow technical descents, this journey is a challenging route for the more experienced riders.

Cycling is an excellent pastime.

Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey Circular

This 14-mile route goes past the Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site and takes you back to Brimham Rocks for a well-earned rest and brew.

For the mountain biking enthusiast Brimham Blast is the perfect challenge. Despite being short it should not be underestimated. After a gentle start up on the road it soon heads onto rough bridleways with challenging uphill and downhill sections opening up spectacular views.

Way of the Roses cycle route, one of Britain’s best coast-to-coast routes, goes right through the property of Brimham Rocks. For 170 miles between Morecambe and Bridlington, this highly popular route passes through historic cities like York and Lancaster, and other gems such as Settle, Pateley Bridge and Ripon.
