The vision for Calke Explore

The Tramway Trail cycle route at Calke Abbey in Derbyshire

The long-term vision for Calke Explore includes a new building in the heart of Poker's Leys woodland, offering a café, toilets and cycle hire facilities. Outside, there will be a new car park, footpaths, cycle routes and outdoor recreation areas.

Before we applied for planning permission, we displayed the plans and designs for the outdoor hub in a public exhibition. This gave our visitors a chance to see detailed plans and offer feedback on the project.

The project will be phased over a number of years, but here you can see our long-term vision for Calke Explore. Take a look at the plans below.

We're currently looking ahead to deliver the first phase of works, which will be complete in late 2018. To find out more about our phased approach, you can download our Frequently Asked Questions from the project page.
