Alice in Wonderland - Sunday 11 August
Don't miss this wonderful music theatre performance, with lots of fun for all the family. Why not dress up as one of your favourite characters? There's even chance to meet them after the show. See here for further details
Family Nature Picnic - Wednesday 14 August
Bring the kids, a picnic, a picnic blanket, and your favourite toy animals. Help us make some wild art and get your face painted like a creature on a lovely family day out. Don’t miss the bar: there’s Pimms for grown-ups or kids’ cocktails - mix your own fruity concoction. Normal admission prices apply, charges will apply for drinks and face painting. 50 Things Thursdays
On 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 August we will be doing activities themed around our '50 things to do before you’re 11¾' challenges. Get closer to nature with our family activities and earn yourself a sticker too!
Things to enjoy all summer
The house trail
If the weather is a bit wet, why not try the “Stolen!” trail in the house. Lots of objects have gone missing from Canons Ashby, can you help us find them all?
Father's day trail
Bring your dad and and enjoy this trail together. Explore the grounds and discover fascinating parts of Canons Ashby you might not normally notice. It's aimed at older children or adults, but anyone can have a go - why not do it as a team? Try it out between 8-23 June, 10am-4pm. Normal admission prices apply.
Play and picnic in the paddock
The wildflower paddock is ideal for summer family picnics with plenty of space for the children to run around and let off steam. Don’t miss the small wild play area in the corner of the paddock and through the spinney.
Stretch your legs
Bring your explorers and see what you can find in our outdoor spaces.The stunning formal gardens are bursting with colourful flowers which attract lots of insects, including beautiful butterflies and busy bumble bees. Whilst in the parkland there are trees to climb around on and animals to see (just please don't get too close).

Whilst you’re here, don’t miss the Stables tea room and Coach House shop.
We make delicious cakes, sandwiches and lunch specials, as well as children's packed lunches. To help your day go as smoothly as possible, there are high chairs, facilities to warm baby food and both indoor and outdoor seating.
In the Coach House shop you'll find beautiful gifts and mementoes, including a selection of local nature-inspired art, homeware and gifts, as well as speciality preserves, biscuits, sweets and drink.There's also lots for the children with a selection of books, gifts and games to keep the little ones entertained or allow them to enjoy their pocket money!
