Proms in the Park at Castle Coole - public access information
We are delighted to be hosting this year’s Proms in the Park in the grounds of Castle Coole, outside Enniskillen. As we prepare for the event, public access to Castle Coole will be restricted and strict traffic and parking measures have been put in place for the event itself. Here's all you need to know....
Restricted access from 1 - 12 September
Public access to Castle Coole will be restricted as we set up for the event, during the event itself and as the site is returned to normal post the Proms. Throughout this period there will be some movement of machinery and equiment across the site and while we will try to keep disruption to a minimum we ask visitors to take extra care.
1-5 September (inclusive)
Main visitor car park will be closed. Visitor car parking will be relocated to the Grand Yard - please follow the signage in place.
6-12 September (inclusive)
Castle Coole will be closed to visitors, except for pedestrian access to the Lake Walk.
On 9 September access to the Lake Walk will be available up to 12 noon only. Entry to the Lake Walk will be via the Town End Lodge gates.
9 September - travel and parking information for Proms in the Park
All public ticket holders will be required to use the free parking and shuttle-bus service that will operate between Enniskillen Airport and Castle Coole from 4.30pm onwards, with return shuttle-buses operating throughout the evening for anyone wishing to leave before the concert’s scheduled finishing time of 10.30pm. All cars are required to be removed from the airport parking site by 10am on Sunday.
All BBC Proms shuttle-buses will make one drop off post event at the Railway Hotel, Forthill Street, en route to Enniskillen Airport
For safety reasons, there will be no pedestrian access to Castle Coole for BBC Proms in the Park.
Disability access at the Proms
BBC NI have made provision for those ticket-holders who are wheelchair users. All public access to the Proms event will be via the Enniskillen Airport site. The main concert auditorium is c500m from the shuttle-bus drop-off point in the Castle Coole estate.
Concert goers are also reminded to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring all their tickets as they won’t be admitted without them.
