Volunteering at Castle Coole

Do you want to spend your time learning, meeting people, and being part of a team? Castle Coole has a wide variety of opportunities which you can get involved in, there’s something to suit everyone.

The National Trust was founded in 1895 by three remarkable volunteers, and thanks to them our vision to care for special places for ever for everyone is very much alive today.

Roles and opportunities

As a volunteer at Castle Coole the roles are endless. Our volunteers are involved in all aspects of the property, from being outdoors looking after the estate, to indoors taking part in conservation projects and administration. Lots of our volunteers are involved in visitor facing roles as meeter-greeters, tour guides, and in the second hand bookshop.
Our volunteers are also heavily involved in our programme of events throughout the year- previous roles have included everything from being a steward on the Antiques Roadshow to dressing up as the Easter Bunny.
Volunteering at Castle Coole gives you the chance to meet people from all walks of life, not just the visitors who come to see us, but also your fellow volunteers- it’s the perfect way to meet like-minded people and make new friends!
