Get away from the crowds and hustle and bustle of town to experience Christmas at Castle Drogo.

On the weekend of the 25 and 26 November pick up some hand made gifts at our Christmas market. There will be over 20 stalls around the visitor centre and near the castle selling food and crafts. There will be hand made jewellery, chocolate pizzas, candles, food hampers, paintings, photographs, ceramics, woollen items, home furnishings, skincare products and lots more. There will also be members of Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band playing to add a festive sparkle. The shop will be selling homemade jam and chutneys, woollen blankets, Christmas cards and decorations. There will be free entry to the garden and grounds all weekend for non National Trust members.

There is a treat in store for children on the weekends of the 9, 10, 16 and 17 of December as they can follow the trail around the garden and grounds to find Father Christmas in his grotto and receive a special present.( £2.50).

The lead up to Christmas is the perfect time to spoil yourself, so why not take advantage of the home made cakes in our café or enjoy something more hearty from our delicious festive food menu, there will also be a three course Christmas lunch special on Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16 December, celebrate the holidays, meet up with friends and family to enjoy a traditional 3 course festive luncheon in the café. Every weekend until the 17 December the castle is open for special behind the scenes guided tours.

After a guided tour you can take a walk on the estate, there are miles of pathways through the Teign Gorge to explore and breath taking views across Dartmoor to take in. Winter is the perfect time to admire the expansive views from the castle down into the gorge.
