Get away from the crowds and hustle and bustle of town to experience Christmas at Castle Drogo.

There is a treat in store for children on the weekends of the 10, 11, 17 and 18 of December as they can follow the trail around the garden and grounds to find Father Christmas in his grotto and receive a special present.( £2.50).

The lead up to Christmas is the perfect time to spoil yourself, so why not take advantage of the home made cakes in our café or enjoy something more hearty from our delicious festive food menu, there will also be a three course Christmas lunch special on Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16 December, celebrate the holidays, meet up with friends and family to enjoy a traditional 3 course festive luncheon in the café. On the weekend of the 10 & 11 December pick up some hand made gifts at our Christmas fair. There will be over 20 stalls around the visitor centre selling food and crafts. Or if you’ve got a bit of last minute shopping to do take advantage of the shop which sells homemade jam and chutneys, woollen blankets and decorations.

Christmas wouldn't be complete without picking that perfect Christmas tree. On the weekend of the 10 and 11 December you can come and choose your perfect tree from local father and son supplier, Lewis Steer.

Every weekend until the 18 December the castle is open for special behind the scenes guided tours.

After a guided tour you can take a walk on the estate, there are miles of pathways through the Teign Gorge to explore and breath taking views across Dartmoor to take in. Winter is the perfect time to admire the expansive views from the castle down into the gorge.
