Charlecote Park's visitor welcome hub project

Project
Work begins on improvements to the welcome facilities at Charlecote Park

Welcome hub

We're investing in our car park area to ensure a better experience for you from the moment you arrive. Work begins in earnest in September.

Work has already begun to improve the drainage and surface of the car park. We've undertaken an archaeological survey too to make sure there's nothing important underneath the surface.

Later, we'll be putting in some loos (at last!), improving the Visitor Reception area and expanding our retail area. The mobile catering van was only ever intented to be temporary and we'll have a cosy new grab-and-go outlet for snacks and hot drinks here too.

A new view of an old view

Eventually we'll be able to restore the original view of Charlecote down the Avenue towards the gatehouse.

You can see from the old fuzzy aerial black-and-white view that the tree-lined avenue was once a truly significant part of the Lucy family estate, continuing across the road from the blue gates at the top of the drive.

We'll have better transport direct from the car park down to the front of the house for those who aren't able to walk down the drive, EV charging points and additional blue badge parking.
